Okay, it’s kind of embarrassing that we haven’t made a post in NINE months- but things are going to be different from now on! 1. Because Dean has programmed a system that will actually let me upload photos and 2. Because I have SO many exciting things to post about! In the next 4 weeks alone we have: Our 4 year anniversary and trip to Seattle, Braden’s first christmas, The Big move (okay- it’s just down the road!) New Year’s, my birthday, and some thing else really cool you’re just going to have to wait to find out!

Any way, while Dean’s in the “updating Groove” please send me your Blog address so he can put you on our cool links page! Thank you!

P.S. Aren’t you so glad Dean and I are Blogging again? I am!

I was released from the hospital last sunday- which made me really nervous, because I didn’t feel strong enough to do much for myself or Braden yet, but at home I had 2 grandma’s and Dean to help me out, so I decided to just go home.

The first night was a nightmare. In the hospital he was a perfect angel, and when we got him home, he turned into a little monster, that cried the entire night. We later realized it was because he wasn’t getting enough to eat (poor little thing). I tried giving him a binkie to calm him, but that just made things worse!

Anyway, after that first night, things have been great! He is so placid and calm, and now only cries when he’s hungry! He let’s out a little pterodactyl squawk and I know it’s time to feed him! It’s really funny. So far being a Mum is a lot easier than I ever imagined it would be- but it’s only because I have been blessed with such an easy kid that sleeps non stop!

Anyway, Dean and I are just loving being parents, and think Braden is just the cutest thing ever!

Thankfully Dean has filled you in on all the delightful details of the delivery, so I don’t have to re-live it~ But I wanted to quickly add a few notes about our darling new son, Braden.

He is an absolute darling! Of course, being his parents we are pretty biased, but we think he is totally cute. He has his father’s blonde hair, which was really unexpected, and he has my big cheeks, (poor little guy!)

But really, he has been an absolute angel so far! He only cries when he gets his nappy/diaper changed. Yesterday he started getting fussy, and i didn’t know what to do, but he just put his thumb in his mouth and went to sleep! The lactation nurse was so impressed with him she said he should go around and teach all the other kids! And the nurse taking his picture said she’d never had an easier baby! He opened his eyes nice and big, and was happy.

The nurses and dr’s here have been awesome! I moan a lot about the American health care system, but surely nothing can beat the care that we have had here! I will hopefully be out by the end of today, but we’ll have to see how things go! We’ll keep you all updated.

Today, rather yesterday, marks the beginning of a new life….Braden’s.

While we work at adjusting to the new changes of parenthood, I thought I might fill some of you in on some of the details. Yesterday, Braden Dean Christensen, was born at 2:53pm. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 inches long. Sarah woke up early in the morning (3:00am) with pretty constant contractions and around 4:00am the contractions were coming every 3-5 minutes.

We ran hurried to the hospital (cause every guy looks forward to the day that he can drive maniacally fast with an actual excuse) and they admitted us straight away. Sarah had an appointment at 7:00 am yesterday morning to be induced and we arrived at 6:00 am with her already in the middle of a natural labor. Sarah entered the hospital dilated at about a 3, and after all the regulatory blood work and testing received her heavenly epidural. By 11:30 Sarah had mysteriously dilated to a 9.5 and was pushing by 12:15. One hour and 45 minutes later we eagerly met our beautiful baby boy.

I apologize for not having posted this last night. To be honest I wrote most of it last night but just got too tired to continue. I even took a million pictures to post, but I forgot darn reader for my camera so maybe later today…

We would especially like to thank those friends and family who have provided us much love and support in this crazy time.

Tune in next time….

We went to Aberdeen and Ocean Shores, and through a ton of weird little towns I can’t remember the name of. I did, however, see a sign to Forks, which you Twilight lovers will be pleased to know, actually does exist! But we didn’t want to chance going because it was 30 miles up a really bumpy road, we had little gas, and no cell service- and I am due to have this baby any day! But maybe another time.

Yesterday my doctor told me that he would be really surprised if baby came in the next week, so we were kind of disappointed. So I told him my Mum was coming to visit from England on monday, and that I wanted her to spend some time with him before she left, and he told me he would induce me! He said: “We don’t usually do this, because it creates a higher risk for C-section, but I would be willing to do it for you because of your ’special circumstance!”

This is great news! I have an appointment to be induced on Thursday of next week, but if a spot opens up before then- I will go in even earlier! It’s kind of scary and exciting, and overwhelming all at the same time, to think I will have my baby by this time next week!

WE FINALLY HAVE A BLOG!

I know some of you, who have been telling us to get one for months now, will be so excited! Dean has custom designed it, and I think it’s looking awesome. I am really excited to be able to post news about life in Washington, and photos of the new baby- because writing and photography are two of my favorite things right now! It will also be great to be able to stay up to date with all our friends and family better. I know I am going to kick myself for not doing this sooner!

Anyway, for our first entry we thought we’d bring you up to date with what’s going on with us. Dean is working full time as a web-designer and developer, whilst I am finishing up working as an office assistant for my father in law. We are both awaiting the arrival of our baby boy any day now. He is due on the 12th of this month, so it’s coming up really fast! And thankfully the previa was misdiagnosed, so I can have him naturally now. (At least I ‘think’ I am grateful for that!) Anyway, we promise to keep you all updated with him, and will post pictures as soon as he arrives!

Welcome to our Blog!
